In an online meeting, Amir Khan Muttaqi urged Taliban diplomats stationed abroad to request assistance from their host countries for victims of the recent earthquake in eastern Afghanistan.

He said Taliban diplomats should inform government officials, charities, and philanthropists about the situation in Afghanistan following the quake and work toward “delivering aid, providing essential resources, and ensuring proper management.”

According to the Taliban, the group currently controls 41 Afghan diplomatic missions worldwide.

The Taliban had previously appealed for international assistance to address the needs of those affected by the earthquake.

So far, 29 countries have responded to the disaster, with 15 of them pledging humanitarian support.

Earlier, Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesman for the Taliban, said that professional rescue teams from several countries had been deployed and were participating in relief operations.
