Turkish police have arrested a 32-year-old man in the city of Konya on suspicion of murdering his wife following a domestic dispute.

The suspect, identified as Saadullah Abadi, is accused of fatally stabbing his 28-year-old wife on Friday night, August 22, at a farm in Konya. The motive behind the killing has not yet been determined.

The couple leaves behind a 14-month-old son, who is now under the care of Turkish child protection services.

Experts note that in many societies with deeply rooted patriarchal norms, violence against women—particularly by their husbands—is far more common than the reverse.

Turkish media occasionally report criminal incidents involving migrants from Afghanistan. In a recent case, a man fatally shot his cousin during an argument in the province of Aksaray.
