Israel has confirmed that it deployed more than ten fighter jets to carry out an aerial strike on a building in Doha, Qatar, where senior Hamas leaders were reportedly gathered. According to Israeli officials, more than ten bombs were dropped on the site, and the aircraft required multiple in-air refueling operations during the mission and return flight.
Israel’s Army Radio, citing a defense official, reported that confidence is “growing by the minute” that the operation was successful. “It looks good,” the official said. “We knew Hamas would try to conceal what happened there.”
However, earlier statements from Hamas to Reuters claimed that no senior figures were killed in the strike.
The unprecedented attack—Israel’s first on Qatari soil—has triggered swift and widespread regional condemnation. Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan, Jordan, Iraq, and other Arab nations have condemned the strike. Riyadh stated that it is placing all its resources at Qatar’s disposal for any necessary action.
The escalation has shaken diplomatic norms in the region, potentially jeopardizing ongoing mediation efforts and igniting broader geopolitical repercussions.
