Israel’s Channel 12 has reported, citing an unnamed Israeli official, that the recent airstrike on senior Hamas leaders in Doha was carried out with the “green light” from former U.S. President Donald Trump.
While the Israeli government has publicly taken full responsibility for the operation—emphasizing that it was “initiated, executed, and owned entirely by Israel”—no U.S. official has yet confirmed or denied Trump’s involvement in authorizing the attack.
According to Al Jazeera, the targeted Hamas officials had gathered in Doha to discuss Trump’s proposed ceasefire agreement. Despite the strike, none of the Hamas leaders were reportedly killed.
This marks the first time Israel has launched a military strike inside Qatari territory. The move has raised serious diplomatic concerns, particularly because Qatar has been serving as a key mediator in negotiations between Israel and Hamas.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry condemned the attack as “criminal” and a blatant violation of international law, warning that such actions jeopardize both regional stability and ongoing peace efforts.
