Al Jazeera has reported that no Hamas members were killed in Israel’s recent airstrike on Doha. The strike reportedly targeted a meeting of Hamas negotiators who had gathered to discuss former U.S. President Donald Trump’s ceasefire proposal.
Despite the high-profile nature of the attack, all members of the Hamas delegation reportedly survived.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry denounced the airstrike as “criminal” and a flagrant violation of international law. It emphasized that the assault endangered mediation efforts and breached Qatar’s sovereignty.
Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office, however, doubled down on its actions, stating: “Israel initiated this operation, Israel executed it, and Israel fully assumes responsibility.”
The failed strike has escalated tensions at a critical juncture in ceasefire negotiations and further complicated the already fragile diplomatic landscape in the region.
