Leaders of European countries within the “Mile Coalition”—a key pillar of Europe’s support for Ukraine in its war against Russia—held a virtual summit today to coordinate their stance.
Following the meeting, Finnish President Alexander Stubb wrote on X: “There is strong consensus among coalition members on the need to continue supporting Ukraine.”
Although detailed discussions were not disclosed, European officials said the aim of the summit was to strengthen coordination on military and political assistance to Kyiv. Observers note that the timing of the meeting, as fierce battles rage on Ukraine’s eastern front, sends a clear message to Moscow: Europe has no intention of retreating from its commitments.
The gathering also comes on the eve of a major White House meeting, where U.S. President Donald Trump will host Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky along with several European leaders.
