At least 24 people were killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza today, including 13 who had been waiting for humanitarian aid, Al Jazeera reported, citing local health sources.

Two of the victims died and 26 others were wounded when Israeli forces opened fire near the Netzarim crossing, where crowds had gathered for aid, according to Al-Awda Hospital staff.

The report said a 17-year-old Palestinian also died from malnutrition, bringing Gaza’s death toll from hunger to 163.

Israel has continued its military campaign in Gaza, aimed at dismantling Hamas, while severely restricting the flow of aid into the enclave. On Sunday, only 73 trucks carrying essential goods entered Gaza, far short of the 600 trucks a day needed to meet basic needs, according to Gaza’s media office.

Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel killed around 1,200 people and resulted in 250 hostages being taken. Since then, more than 60,000 Palestinians – including roughly 17,000 children – have been killed in Israeli operations, Gaza health authorities say.

Families of Israeli hostages held in Gaza have staged protests demanding more action for their release.
