Turkish media reported on Friday (July 31) that a citizen of Afghanistan shot and killed his cousin during a dispute in Aksaray Province, Turkey.

According to reports, the suspect has been identified as Abdul Basir Jamali, while the victim, his cousin, was named Bismillah Jamali. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. and was reportedly motivated by a “family honor” dispute.

Bismillah Jamali, a father of one child, died after being struck in the neck by shotgun pellets. Residents alerted police and emergency services after hearing the gunfire. Medical teams confirmed his death upon arrival.

His body was taken to the Aksaray Training and Research Hospital for autopsy and later handed over to his family. Burial was scheduled for later the same day.

The suspect fled the scene immediately after the shooting but was eventually arrested on the Aksaray–Ankara highway.
